SMS Log

The SMS Log shows every outbound text message sent by your studio, including delivery status and overage tracking. Use it to monitor communication activity and troubleshoot failed messages.

Metrics Cards
  1. 1

    Sent This Month

Total number of SMS messages dispatched during the current billing period, regardless of delivery outcome.

  2. 2

    Monthly Limit

Your subscription plan's included SMS allowance for the billing period. Displays as "Unlimited" if your plan has no cap.

  3. 3

    Over Limit

Messages sent beyond your plan's monthly allowance. These trigger automatic overage billing at your plan's per-message rate.

  4. 4

    Overage Cost

Estimated charge for over-limit messages based on your plan's per-message overage rate. This amount will appear on your next invoice.

Activity Log Table
  1. 1

    Sent At

The timestamp when the message was dispatched from the platform.

  2. 2

    Phone

    The recipient's phone number, partially masked for privacy (e.g., +1 *** *** 5678).

  3. 3

    Message Type

Identifies what triggered the message, such as "Missed Class", "Class Reminder", or "Birthday Wish".

  4. 4

    Trigger

How the message was initiated. AUTOMATED means it was sent by a scheduled cron job based on your Communication Settings. NOTIFICATION means it was triggered by a real-time event (such as a belt promotion or payment alert). TEST means it was sent manually from the admin SMS configuration page.

  5. 5

    Status

Shows SENT (green) when delivery was confirmed, or FAILED (red) when an error occurred. Hover over a FAILED badge to see the specific error reason returned by the carrier or Twilio.

Filtering the Log
  1. 1

    Filter by Status

Use the Status dropdown to show All messages, only Sent messages, or only Failed messages.

  2. 2

    Filter by Date Range

Enter a start date and end date to narrow results to a specific time window.

  3. 3

    Apply Filters

Click the Apply Filters button to run the search. The table and metrics cards will update to reflect the filtered results.

Understanding Failed Messages
  1. 1

    Check the error reason

Hover over any red FAILED badge in the Status column to see the error message returned by Twilio or the recipient's carrier. Common reasons include an invalid phone number, an unreachable carrier, or a blocked number.

  2. 2

    Verify member phone numbers

If you see repeated failures for the same recipient, confirm their phone number is saved in E.164 format (e.g., +15551234567) on their profile and that they have SMS opt-in enabled.

  3. 3

    Check your SMS configuration

Systemic failures across multiple recipients may indicate a problem with your Twilio credentials or add-on configuration. Platform admins can review the SMS settings at Admin > SMS.
