Referrals

Grow your studio community with two referral programs: refer other studios to MyDojang for platform subscription credits, or enable member-to-member referrals within your studio.

Platform Referrals (Studio-to-Studio)

Navigate to Referrals
Click 'Referrals' in the left sidebar to open the referral management page.

Check the current reward
The platform reward is shown at the top of the Platform Referrals card (e.g., 'Reward: Free Month'). This is configured by the platform administrator and applies to all your referral links.

Generate a referral link
Click 'Generate Code' to create a shareable referral link. Each link contains a readable code based on your studio name (e.g., korea-tiger-mma-A7B3).

Copy and share
Click 'Copy' next to any referral link to copy the full signup URL. Send it via email, text, or social media to other studio owners you know.

Track your referrals
The table shows each referral link's status: Pending (not used yet), Signed Up (studio registered), or Completed (first payment made and credit applied).

Credits are only applied after the referred studio makes their first successful billing payment, not at signup. The credit automatically applies to your next invoice via Stripe.

Member Referrals (Member-to-Member)

Enable member referrals
In the 'Member Referral Settings' section, toggle on 'Enable member referrals' to allow your members to generate referral codes.

Configure the reward
Choose a reward type: Free Month (credit equal to the referrer's full monthly payment), Fixed Amount (a set dollar credit), or Percentage (a percentage of the new member's first payment). Available options may be restricted by your platform administrator.

Save your settings
Click 'Save Settings' to apply your configuration. Members will see a 'Refer a Friend' option in their portal.

Reward Types

Free Month (default)
The referrer receives a credit equal to their full monthly payment. This is the most generous option and is the default for new studios.

Fixed Amount
The referrer receives a set dollar credit (e.g., $15). Enter the amount in dollars when configuring.

Percentage
The referrer receives a percentage of the new member's first payment as a credit (e.g., 15%).

Platform restrictions
Your platform administrator may restrict which reward types are available to you. If a reward type is not shown in the dropdown, it has been disabled at the platform level.

How Credits Work

Stripe Customer Balance
Referral credits are applied as a negative balance on the referrer's Stripe customer account. This credit automatically reduces the amount charged on their next invoice.

Credit timing
Credits are awarded when the referred studio or member makes their first successful payment, not when they sign up.

Cancel pending referrals
You can cancel any pending (unused) referral code by clicking the trash icon. This invalidates the code so it cannot be used.
