Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the MyDojang platform at mydojang.net. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have parental consent), have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Account Responsibilities

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

Multi-Tenant Obligations

As a studio owner, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are responsible for data entered by you and your staff
  • Obtain appropriate consent before entering personal data of students, parents, and staff
  • For students under 13, obtain verifiable parental consent (COPPA compliance)
  • Do not share access credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • You are responsible for the actions of staff members you invite

Payment Terms

  • Billed monthly or annually as selected
  • All fees in USD, non-refundable except as required by law
  • Payment via Stripe
  • Pricing changes with 30 days notice
  • Failed payments may result in suspension

Trial Period

New accounts receive a trial period as specified during signup with access to all plan features. If you don't subscribe before the trial ends, your account may be suspended. Trial data is retained for 90 days.

Cancellation

  • Cancel anytime from dashboard settings
  • Takes effect at end of billing period
  • Data retained for 90 days after cancellation
  • Request immediate deletion by contacting us

Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all data you enter. We do not claim ownership of your studio data, student records, or content. We only use your data to provide the Service, per our Privacy Policy.

SMS Communications

When a studio enables SMS notifications through MyDojang, the following terms apply to all SMS/text message communications:

  • Program description: Studios may send class reminders, schedule updates, belt test announcements, billing notifications, and other studio-related communications via SMS.
  • Opt-in: SMS messages are only sent to recipients who have explicitly opted in through a web form, member portal, or in-studio registration. Consent is specific to the studio sending the messages.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe immediately. You will receive a one-time confirmation message. No further messages will be sent. Reply START to re-subscribe at any time.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any text message for assistance, or contact your studio directly. You may also email [email protected].
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on studio activity and your account settings.
  • Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Contact your mobile carrier for details.
  • Carrier liability: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Data privacy: Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent data will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Studio owners are responsible for ensuring all SMS recipients have provided explicit opt-in consent before sending messages through the platform.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
  • Upload malicious code or harmful content
  • Send spam or unsolicited communications
  • Resell or redistribute without permission
  • Scrape or harvest data from the Service

Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily suspended for maintenance with advance notice when possible.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed amounts paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyDojang, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and will post changes here. Material changes communicated via email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

Governed by US law. Disputes resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited.
