Tang Soo Do schools affiliated with the WTSDA, ITSDKA, or traditional Moo Duk Kwan lineages each maintain specific hyung requirements per gup — Kicho hyungs for beginners, Pyung Ahn series for intermediate gup, and Bassai, Naihanchi, and advanced forms for dan candidates. One-step and three-step sparring (il soo sik and sam soo sik) are tested at virtually every gup level.
