Tournament Management — Host and Run Competitive Events

## Tournament Management MyDojang now includes a full tournament management suite. Create an event, open registration, run brackets on competition day, and track overall standings — all in one place. --- ### Creating a Tournament Go to **Tournaments → New Tournament** to set up an event. You can configure: - Event name, dates, location, and banner image - Registration open/close windows - Pricing model (flat fee or base + per-division add-on) - Optional electronic waiver requirement - Whether to list the event in the public MyDojang tournament directory --- ### Divisions Add as many divisions as your event needs. Each division can be filtered by: - Belt rank range (minimum and maximum) - Age range - Gender - Weight range Set a per-division capacity and registration fee independently. Brackets are generated per division once registration closes. --- ### Online Registration & Payment Competitors and schools register through a **public registration page** — no MyDojang account required. Registration fees are collected via Stripe at checkout. - **Individual registration** — open to anyone with the link - **School portals** — coaches log in with a PIN, manage their team's entries, and pay in bulk - **Bulk import** — coaches can upload a roster CSV to register a large team at once - **Promo codes** — issue percentage or flat-dollar discount codes for schools, early birds, or VIPs Registrants receive a confirmation email with their division details. --- ### Spectator Tickets Sell tickets separately from competitor registration. Set a ticket price, enable online sales, and buyers pay through a dedicated ticket checkout page. Tickets are tracked on the **Tickets** tab. --- ### Brackets Once you close registration, generate brackets from the **Brackets** tab. Brackets use single-elimination format and are organized by division. Brackets are visible publicly at your tournament's URL — competitors and coaches can follow along from their phones. --- ### Running the Tournament The **Run** view gives staff a live scoring interface on competition day: - See all divisions and their current match queues - Record match results (win/loss/bye) in real time - Brackets update instantly for everyone watching the public page --- ### Check-In The **Check-In** tab lets staff confirm that registered competitors have arrived, keeping your on-site rosters accurate. --- ### Points Standings Enable a **Points Standings** leaderboard from Tournament Settings to track an overall champion across all divisions: - Configurable points per placement (default: 1st = 10 pts, 2nd = 7 pts, 3rd = 5 pts) - Optional division-size weighting (larger divisions award more points) - Grand Champion bonus points - Auto-tiebreaker by placement count - Fullscreen mode — project the leaderboard on a screen at your venue The standings board refreshes every 30 seconds automatically. --- ### Staff Roles Assign tournament-specific staff roles (**Registrar** or **Judge**) to team members who only need access to that event — they won't have access to the --- ### Automated Emails - **Registration confirmation** sent to each competitor on signup - **Daily digest** email to organizers summarizing new registrations (configurable) - **Reminder email** to registered competitors before the event ---
